Tune properties and standard notation

CANADIAN JIG. French Canadian, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A 'jig' because the melody is the vehicle for a solo dance, which is called jig-stepping. The tune, however, appears to be Irish in origin, and shares a second strain with "Cuckoo (1) (The)."
