Tune properties and standard notation
CAOINEADH RIOGHAIL (The Royal Lament). Scottish, Air or Lament. A harp melody composed by the Laird of Coll, John Garbh Maclean, on the execution of King Charles I. Sanger & Kinnaird, in their book Tree of Strings (1992), say variants of the tune can be found in several early manuscripts and tune collections.
