Tune properties and standard notation
DANCE FOR EVER. English, Slip Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The melody appears unique to London publisher Charles and Samuel Thompson's 1765 country dance collection. It is one of the "missing tunes" of William Vickers' 1770 Northumbrian dance tune manuscript.
