ELECTRIC CAR, THE. Irish, Double Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. In 1881, a French experimenter named Charles Jeantaud, with help from Camille Faure (inventor of the pasted plate battery), debuted a personal vehicle that ran on electricity, a tricycle (ie, three wheels and a seat) for adults. The car was made from a Tilbury style buggy with a Gramme motor and the Fulmen battery.
