Tune properties and standard notation


EXETER LADIES. English, Jig. A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in print in John Young's Dancing Master, volume 2 (1713), and in subsequent editions until the end of the series in 1728 (Young was heir to the Playford publishing firm). It was also published by John Walsh in his Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing Master (London, 1719) and in Walsh and Randall's New Country Dancing Master, 2nd Book (London, 1710).
