Tune properties and standard notation
FITZGERALD'S HORNPIPE [1] (Cornphíopa Mhic Ghearailt). Irish, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune straddles tonality between A dorian and G major, but resolves to 'G'. 19th century County Cork cleric and uilleann piper James Goodman collected a version of the melody--see "Fitzgerald's Hornpipe (2)."
