FORT CHARLOTTE. Shetland, March (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Gideon Stove, the tune is used in Shetland for dancing two-steps. Fort Charlotte [1] is an artillery bastion in Lerwick, Shetland, built in 1781 on the site of older fortifications. It was named for the wife of King George III.
