FORT AT KINCORA, THE. AKA and see "Ballinakill Hornpipe (The)," "Galway Hornpipe (3)," "Joe Burke's Hornpipe," "Sherlock's." Irish, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The tune appears in Bulmer and Sharpley under the "Sherlocks" title. Associated with County Galway (Joe Burke and Mike Rafferty are from County Galway; Joe from Kilnadeema, Mike from Ballinakill).
Source for notated version: New Jersey flute player Mike Rafferty, born in Ballinakill, Co. Galway, in 1926 [Harker].
