Tune properties and standard notation

GARRICK'S DELIGHT. English, Hornpipe. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The title references English thespian and theater manager David Garrick [1]. The melody first appeared in John Johnson's Choice Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 6th (London, 1751, p. 25) and in John Hinton's periodical Universal Magazine (London, 1751). A few years later it was published in The Compleat Country Dancing-Master, volume the Fifth by the Walsh firm (London, 1754, p. 2). In each case the tune was set in the key of 'A'.
