GREEN BLANKET, THE. AKA and see "Ewe Reel (The)," "Red Blanket (The)." Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. The tune was recorded by the Ballinakill Ceili Band in 1931 (paired with the east Galway version of the "Shaskeen Reel"). Breathnach found the name as "Red Blanket (The)."

Source for notated version: New Jersey flute player Mike Rafferty, born in Ballinakill, Co. Galway, in 1926 [Harker].
