Tune properties and standard notation
GREEN HILLS OF TYROL [2]. AKA and see "Green Fields of Antrim (2) (The)," "Green Hills of Antrim (The)," "Tripping Downstairs/Tripping Down the Stairs," "Tripping Up the Stairs (1)." Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Caoimhin Mac Aoidh credits Donegal fiddler Tommy Peoples' recording of the tune on the CCE label for popularizing the tune. Peoples' source is the printing in Cole's 1000/Ryans Mammoth Collection, a version that features descending 6th passages in the 'B' part played in reel time!
