Tune properties and standard notation

INFANT. English, Country Dance Tune (whole time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Originally published by Charles and Samuel Thompson in their Compleat Collection, vol. 3 (London, 1773). It is one of several melodies from the Thompson's volume 3 that were entered into the 1788 music manuscript copybook of fiddlers John and William Pitt Turner (Norwich, Conn.), and it is one of the "missing tunes" from William Vickers' 1770 Northumbrian dance tune manuscript.
