Tune properties and standard notation
JANEY OF THE GREEN. AKA - "Jenny of the Green." English, Reel. England, Northumberland. E Flat Major ('A' part) & B Flat Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in the 1770 music manuscript collection (p. 142) of Northumbrian musician William Vickers, about whom very little is known. It appears as "Jenny of the Green" in various earlier printed collections, including those of David Rutherford and Charles and Samuel Thomson.
