Tune properties and standard notation


JOHN MOORE. Irish, Planxty ('A' and 'B' parts in cut time, 'C' part in jig time). C Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC. Composed by Turlough O'Carolan. Hardiman states that John Moore was 'of Bryes', County Mayo, probably the Captain John Moore of Brize Castle, near Claremorris, who married Mary, daughter of Denis Daly of Carrownakelly in 1698. He died in 1706 [O'Sullivan].
