Tune properties and standard notation
MRS. DELANY [1]. Irish, Planxty (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Turlough O'Carolan. O'Sullivan (1958) states it "would be natural to assume" that Mrs. Delany is the wife of a patron, Dr. Delany. However, it is known that the Dr. did not marry until 1732, long after the tune was published with title by the Neale family in Dublin (1721).
