SLIABH AUGHTY MARCH, THE. AKA - "Father Kelly's March." Irish, March (4/4 time). G Major: F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. This popular ceili band tune was composed by Father P.J. Kelly, a Columban priest from Woodford, County Galway, notes Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin. The Sliabh Aughty mountains stretch from east Clare to East Galway. Note the similarity with Kelly's own reel "Rossmore Jetty (The)"/"Father Kelly's Reel (1)."
