BRAD WALTERS. Old-Time. USA; Magoffin County, Ky. A Mixolydian. AEae tuning (fiddle). ABBCC. The tune was recorded by fiddler John Salyer, Magoffin County, Ky., in 1941 or 1942 on a home disc recording. Named for a fiddler who played the tune, in lieu of another title. Bruce Greene told Jeff Titon that there were two old fiddlers in Magoffin County by the name of Brad Walters, and that one only played hymns. The tune belongs to the "Granny Will Your Dog Bite? (1)"/"Betty Martin"/"Hogeye Man"/"Fire on/in the Mountain [1]" family of tunes.
Source for notated version: John M. Salyer (Salyersville, Magoffin County, Ky.) [Titon].
