KING OF PRUSSIA'S MARCH. English, March (4/4 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The march appears in a great many fife tutors and martial publications, and musicians' manuscript collections on both sides of the Atlantic, dating from the mid-18th century, for the next 75 years. Early publications of the melody can be found in Robert Bremner's A Collection of Airs and Marches (London, 1761, p. 24), Longman & Lukey's A Fourth Collection of Twenty Four Favorite Marches In 5 Parts (London, 1770), and Longman and Broderip's Entire New and Compleat Instructions for the Fife (London, 1780).
