COLONEL BAIRD [1]. Scottish, Jig. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by "the late Mrs. Oswald of Auchicruive" (nee Mary Ramsay, who died in 1788) on whom for more see "Miss Johnston of Hilton's Fancy". The melody honors Sir James Baird who, in 1781, married Henrietta Johnson of Hillton (for whom see "Miss Johnston of Hilton's Fancy”).
