LOWE'S REEL. Scottish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. The reel was composed by John Cumming in honor of Scottish musician, composer and music publisher Joseph Lowe (1796-1866), in whose collection the tune first appears (along with another of Cumming's compositions, "Cutty Sark"). See note for "Cutty Sark" for more on John Cumming and his relationship with Lowe.
