LOVE AT THE ENDINGS. AKA – "Head of Cabbage (The)." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Composed by County Cavan/Philadelphia composer and fiddler Ed Reavy (1898–1988), and one of his more enduring compositions. Ed's son Joe Reavy alludes to O'Casey's Purple Dust, in which O'Killigan speaks in an effort to woo Avril away from ther British lord and move with him to the west of Ireland. He suggests they'll find "things to say and things to do, and love at the endings."
