American, March (4/4 time). USA, southwestern Pa. D Major (Bayard): G Major (Bayard). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A march known in the British Isles and the Continent, according to Bayard (1981). The Dutch authority Florimond van Duyse has called the tune a fife or flagolet air and has dated it to the latter 18th or beginning 19th century.
