MÀIRI NIGHEAN DEORSA [2] (Mary, George's Daughter). Scottish, Air. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). A different melody than "Màiri Nighean Deorsa (1)," appearing in Daniel Dow's 1776 collection. The same melody appears in a manuscript collected around 1810 by the Armagh-born collector Edward Bunting, according to Colm Ó Baoill, without a bass line, with the note that it was "Copie(s?) out of old printed Book."
