UNION QUICKSTEP. American, Quickstep March (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in the American Veteran Fifer (1902), p. 54, a publication of the National Association of Civil War Musicians, an obscure subgroup of the Grand Army of the Republic. The music was compiled by “National Fife Major,” A.F. Hopkins of Yellow Springs, Ohio.
