MÁIRE NA SOP (Maire of the wisp). AKA - "Mary o' the Wisp (1)," "Mary O'Wisp." AKA and see "Fintown Reel," "Irish Molly," "Knocknagow Reel," "My Love Is Far Away." Irish, Reel. Ireland, County Donegal. A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB'CD. The reel was popularized by Donegal fiddler Francie Dearg O'Byrne, although it was also in the repertoire of John Doherty. However, it is most often nowadays known under the title "Scotch Mary." See note for the companion tune "Annotation:Mol na Tiarna/Moll and Tiarna."
