Back to Mellonie's Jig

MELLONIE'S JIG. Scottish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Gow (1806) identifies the tune as Irish, and indeed, the tune shares the same 'A' part as O'Neill's "Maloney's Wife" and Ryan's "Maloney's Fancy." Gow's title, "Mellonie's" would seem to be a corruption of the name "Maloney's". See also the Northumbrian "What do you think of her now?"
