BUCKINGHAM HOUSE [3]. English, Country Dance Tune (6/4 time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in all four editions of The Second Volume of the Dancing Master [1] (1718-1728), published in London by John Young, heir to the Playford publishing concerns. It also was printed by Walsh and Randall in their The New Country Dancing Master, Second Book (London, 1710) and in Walsh and Hare's The Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master (London, 1719). The tune is based on the passamezzo antico. Prior to John Young's printing, a version of the melody appeared in the John Leyden lyra viol manuscript as "When She Cam Ben She Bobbit."

Printed sources: Young (Second Volume of the Dancing Master, 1st edition), 1710; p. 130.

Recorded sources: Alia Vox AVSA 9878, Jordi Savall - "The Celtic Viol. II" (2010).
