HAUNTED HOUSE, THE. AKA and see "Broderick's Jig," "Drumshambo Jig," "Leitrim Jig (The)," "Old Leitrim Jig (The)." Irish, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed by County Galway flute player Vincent Broderick, a member of the Kincora Ceili Band from 1952-57, originally titled "The Haunted House." It seems the two were bicycling home one night from playing out when they passed a manor house on a hill, from which the sounds of dancing, music and laughter could be heard. They stopped to listen for a bit, however, being tired they made their way home. The next day they tried to find the house, but only found old ruins where they had stopped.
