HONORABLE MRS. MURRAY OF ELLIBANK'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Edinburgh musician and music publisher biography:William Shepherd also composed a tune for Mrs. Murray's daughter, "Miss Murray of Ellibank’s Favorite." The title refers to one of the two wives of Alexander Murray (1747-1820), 7th Lord Elibank, a Scottish peer who married firstly Mary Clara, daughter of Lewis Charles Montolieu, Baron de St Hypolite, in 1776. After her death in January 1802 he married secondly Catherine, daughter of James Steuart, in 1804.
