CAIRNGORM BROOCH. AKA and see "The Old Reel." Scottish, Canadian; Reel. Canada; Cape Breton. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A Scottish variant of the "Flowers of Limerick," "Bunch of Keys [1]" tune family. As "The Old Reel" it can be found in J. Davies' Caledonian Repository (1829). A Caringorm brooch is a pin made of a smoky yellow or brown quartz, used as a gem stone, found in the Cairngorm mountains.
