PADDY'S PET. AKA and see “Mama's Pet (2).” Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune is usually known nowadays as "Mama's Pet." O'Neill already had a reel called "Mama's Pet," a different tune, in Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody (1922), and so this tune became "Paddy's Pet."
Source for notated version: Patrick Stack [O’Neill]. Chicago fiddler Stack was originally from Co. Kerry, and was the source for several tunes in Francis O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1903). He is absent from the c. 1903 picture of the Irish Music Club in the city, although another musician--perhaps a relation--Garrett J. Stack, was present.
