McCOY'S MEASURE. Irish; Reel, Hornpipe or Scots Measure. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody (set as a hornpipe, although it appears to have been derived from a Scots Measure) is contained in the Alex Sutherland (1873-1967, Toome, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim) music manuscript collection of c. 1900.

Source for notated version: Seán McGivney [Keegan]. McGivney is a musician from County Longford, and had the tune from Fr. John Quinn.

Printed sources: Keegan (Drops in the Ocean), 2004; No. 22.

Recorded sources: Marie Reilly - "The Anvil."
