PIPER KING, THE. Scottish, Pipe March (2/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Composed by Scots fiddler-composer J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927), in honor of Mr. John McColl, Pipe Major, of Oban. McColl composed a number of pipe marches, including "Arthur Bignold of Lochrosque," "Second Regiment Scottish Horse," "Eobhan Ruadh MacFarlane," "Allan Gilmore Tom of Canna" and "John MacColl's Farewell to the Scottish Horse" among others.
