FARRELL'S PIPES. Irish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDDEEFF. Presumably the title is a self-referral of the late 18th/early 19th century uilleann piper O'Farrell, whose name appears on the bills of London stage plays and concert performances, and in whose collection of music this version appears. Unfortunately, very little is known about him, not even his first name. The melody is a version of "Langstrom Pony", with variation sets for the pipes typical of the period.
