CORI(E)MONIES RANT. AKA and see "Miss Brown's Reel." Scottish, Strathspey. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Surenne): AAB (Athole, Davie, Glen, Gow, Johnson): AABB' (Kerr). Composition of the melody is credited to Daniel Dow (1732-1783) by Kerr, Glen and others. Linscott (1939) says only "it is very old." Glen (1981) finds the earliest printing of the tune in Daniel Dow's c. 1775 collection (p. 21).
