RED FOX WALTZ. Old-Time, Waltz. USA, Missouri. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. According to Vivian Williams during the 1960's the tune became popular for a time at the Weiser, Idaho, national fiddle contest, played and popularized by fiddlers originally from Missouri where it is a frequently heard waltz. Taylor McBain (Columbia, Missouri) has been singled out for having one of the finest renditions of the tune.
