DRUNKEN DRUMMER, THE. English, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody also appears in the c. 1780-1804 music manuscript collection of fiddler John Fife (as "The Drunken Drummer, a Quickstep"), probably from Perthshire, although he may also have made entries while at sea, as battles in the Caribbean and Mediterranean are mentioned.
