Irish, March (4/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC. The complete title is “I’ll Go and I’ll Marry and I Won’t be a Nun,” from a Victorian era song set to an older melody. As "The Letter that He Longed For Never Came", it was recorded by County Cork singer Elizabeth Cronin (1879-1956), and as "I Won't Be a Nun" it was recorded by piper Patsy Touhey on a cylindar by Capt. Francis O'Neill.
