RICHARD'S HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Richer's Hornpipe." English, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Learned by the collector P.W. Joyce as a child in Limerick. There is nothing of Irish character in the melody however, and the tune is a version of “Richer's Hornpipe” or “Richar’s Hornpipe,” named after a famous English stage dancer of hornpipes who usually effected a nautical character.
