Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was recorded in New York in 1932 as “The Windy Gap” by fiddler Packie Dolan (1904-1932), originally from County Longford. However, on most 78 RPM recordings the tune was called "Ah Surely]]."

Source for notated version: - accordionist Sonny Brogan (Ireland) [Breathnach]. Researcher Conor Ward believes Brogan may have learned the reel from Packie Dolan’s recording.
