CALVER LODGE. Scottish, Country Dance Tune (whole or 2/4 time). D Major (Kerr): G Major (Howe, Manson). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Edinburgh fiddler-composer and bandleader annotation:Nathaniel Gow and first published as a country dance in his Favorite Dances of 1812 (p. 1). Calver Lodge is a branch of Masonic ritual. The tune and dance also appear in the Scottish Country Dance Book vol. 8 (No. 3).
