The titles "All Hands High" and "All Hands Hoy" were contemporary. The "All Hands Hoy" title appears in Samuel, Ann and Peter Thompson's c. 1790 reprinting of Charles and Samuel Thompson's Compleat Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 2, first printed in London in 1765. In the original 1765 volume the title was given as "All Hands High." As "All Hands High" it appeared in John Hinton's periodical Universal Magazine of Knowledge and Pleasure (London, 1759), and, as "All Hands Hoy" in R. Baldwin's London Magazine, or The Gentleman's Monthly Intelligencer (London, 1760).
