OUR HOUSE AT HOME (Ar dTigh sa Baile). AKA and see "I'm Ready Now," "Is Trua gan Peata 'n Mhaoir agam (1)," "Mother and Child Reel (The)," "Mulvey's Reel," "Peata Beag is a Mhathair," "Peata Geal do Mhathar/Peata Geal do Matar," "Yellow Cow (The)," "Your Mother’s Fair Pet." Irish, Reel. D Major (Greir): A Major (Sutherland): G Major (Treoir). A versatile melody employed as both a song air and a dancing tune, particularly in Munster, dating at least to the early 19th century. A reel setting appears in the late 19th century collection of Alex Sutherland of County Leitrim under the title "Mulvey's Reel." Another County Leitrim collection from the same era, the Stephen Grier (Abbeylara, Granard, County Longford) collection of 1883, gives the tune under the "Our House at Home" title. Grier later came to live at Bohey, Gortlettragh, County Leitrim. Piper William Mulvey inherited the Grier collection after the latter's death, according to modern piper Brian McNamara. Cognate versions of the tune include "Is Trua gan Peata 'n Mhaoir agam (1)" (Petrie), "Your Mother’s Fair Pet" (Joyce/Petrie), "Basket of Oysters (4) (The)" (Goodman) and "I'm Ready Now" (O'Neill).
