TEXAS GALS. AKA - "Texas Gales." AKA and see “Knockin’ at Your Door [2].” American, Reel (cut time). USA. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. "Texas Gals" is a tune associated with the southwestern Virginia and northwestern North Carolina region. The variant title “Texas Gales” title comes from the Doc Watson recording of the tune, but Kerry Blech, for one, believes it was a miss-hearing of “Texas Gals,” spoken in a North Carolina drawl. See also Gene Goforth’s cognate “Knockin' at Your Door.”
