ANTHONG FRAWLEY'S JIG (Port Antoine Uí Fhreaghaile). AKA - "Anthony Frawley's Slide." Irish, Jig (6/8 time) or Slide (12/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune has been transcribed as both a jig and a slide. Source Patrick Kelly of Cree, West Clare, had four or five tunes in his repertory in 12/8 time, which he played similarly to the Sliabh Luachra slide style, albeit at a slower tempo. Kelly was of the opinion that these tunes had entered West Clare repertory via fiddler George Whelan, a fiddler from County Kerry who taught music in West Clare around the turn of the 20th century.
Breathnach (1976) finds the tune related to "Seanduine Dóite (An)" (Burnt Old Man (1)).
