HUMORS OF NEWCASTLE, THE (Sugra Caislean-Nuada). Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning. AAB (O'Neill/1850 & 1001): AABB' (O'Neill/Krassen). The tune is cousin to "Monsignor's Blessing" and "Captain Kelly's Reel (2)/Kelley Reel (1)."


Additional notes
Source for notated version : - "Dillon" [O'Neill]. Chicago police officer and fiddler Timothy M. Dillon was from the parish of Newmarket West, County Limerick, born in the late 1840's. He was "a genial, kindly gentleman in public and private life." O'Neill prints a sketch of him in Irish Minstrels and Musicians, 1913, p. 395.
