MAMMA'S/MAMA'S/MAMMY'S PET [1] (Peata Mamaí). AKA - "Mamma's Pet." AKA and see "Downing's Reel," "Mama's Pet (1)," "Paddy's Pet," "Peata Mamaí," "Rotten Spuds (The)," "Timothy Downing." Irish, Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Kerr, Levey): AA'B (Goodman). The versions that Kerr (c. 1880) and Levey (1873) print seem to be an earlier form of the more modern tune, for which see "Mama's Pet (1)" and Annotation:Mama's Pet (1). A version with a cognate first strain appears in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon biography:James Goodman under the title “Mamma's Pet.”
