John Glen (1891) finds "Lady Augusta Murray's Reel" earliest in print in biography:Daniel Dow's c. 1775 collection (p. 26). The melody, as "Lady Augusta Murray," was entered into the 1840 music manuscript collection of musician John Rook (Waverton, Cumbria). The Gows printed it as "Mrs. J.W. Bourke" in Edinburgh the beginning of the 19th century. The Rev. Luke Donnellan's Connaght reel "Strawberry Beds (2) (The)" is a more distanced version of Dow's tune.
