STRAWBERRY BEDS [2], THE. AKA and see "Lady Augusta Murray," "Mrs. J.W. Bourke." Irish, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was collected by the Rev. Luke Donnellan in the late 19th century in Connaught and was printed in his article “Oriel Songs and Dances" in the Journal of the County Louth Archaeological Society (vol. II, No. 2, 1909; No. 38. However, it is a version (more distanced in the second strain) of a Scottish reel that first appears in Daniel Dow's c. 1775 collection as "Lady Augusta Murray," and later printed by the Gows as "Mrs. J.W. Bourke."
