STRAWBERRY BEDS [2], THE. AKA and see "Lady Augusta Murray," "Mrs. J.W. Bourke." Irish, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was collected by the biography:Rev. Luke Donnellan (1878-1952) in the late 19th century in Connaught and was printed in his article “Oriel Songs and Dances" in the Journal of the County Louth Archaeological Society (vol. II, No. 2, 1909; No. 38. However, it is a version (more distanced in the second strain) of a Scottish reel that first appears in Daniel Dow's c. 1775 collection as "Lady Augusta Murray," and later printed by the Gows as "Mrs. J.W. Bourke."
